My name is Nathan and I'm 34yrs old and a single father. I'm not a typical 34yr old as I'm dealing with a vary debilitati
ng medical mystery, which has disabled me. I met the founder, Kevin (Rock) and his partner Scott in Wal-Mart and during a conversation I disclosed to them my medical mystery and how it has impacted my life. Kevin said a prayer for me in the middle of an isle and opened up his resources to assist me in my pursuit for health. By their guidance, I’ve discovered and tapped into the resources of the HeyWhatEver Concept, and my goal is to use the communication tools available and to build a network of support to discover the cause of my medical mystery and to be an advocate for other people who live life each day with a physical or mental condition the same as, or similar to my own medical mysteries, which have taken control of them and has altered their lives to the extent they have become dependent on others in their lives and have lost the freedom to be independent. In February of 2008 when I was just 32yrs old I worked full-time as an independent insurance agent and in the last 1.5yrs have lost much of my independence to the extent of having to wear a my cell phone at all times, and having my neighbors on speed dial, to wearing a whistle around my neck in the event my cell phone fails or I'm unable to operate my cell phone and as a last resort, blow the whistle in order to get the attention from someone to assist me or call 911, to having to use a cane to support my body so I don't fall over, to having to depend on others for transportation, to having to use an electric wheelchair while shopping, to being unable to work and currently dependent on Social Security Disability for financial support. I graduated from the University of Milwaukee and earned a Bachelor's Degree with a double major, the first one being Organizational Administration and the second being Communications. I graduated with Honors in 2004. In the year 2000, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Sheboygan with an Associates Degree in Arts and Sciences. Prior to February 2008 I was completely healthy. I worked 45hrs per week and drove to clients' homes all over the state of Wisconsin in order to provide protection against unknown events such as an injury outside of work, which pays money each month, so the bread winner can continue to support his/her family or in the event of a death that there is at least money available to compensate the loss of income in the household so the family can make financial decisions without being forced out of their homes through foreclosure, due to not being able to pay the mortgage payments. I have a tremendous passion to help others and getting state licensed in Accident and Health and life insurance allowed me to help families, which I did until I became ill. I have several years experience in sales and also worked in the financial industry as an Account Manager and Personal and Business Banker. Before my illness I enjoyed bike riding, averaged 40miles per week. I also enjoyed going for walks and averaged 3 miles per week. I engaged in many sporting activities with my children. I worked full-time and supported my family, which currently I'm unable to do any of these things because of my illness, which has eluded doctors in many different fields and after several diagnostic tests have no known cause for my illness. My medications and therapy have not currently been able to manage the symptoms of my illness. I will be writing blogs, as I'm able to with my illness, and I ask (plead) that many people read them, and share them with others, offer resources financial, spiritual, and emotional as WE work to discover the cause of this medical mystery and share what WE discover together with multiple thousands of people who are struggling with similar symptoms.
